GALVANOMETER VERSION 8, Ready for the kit!

(Updated Jan 29, 2007)

(obsolete but interesting)

Hi to all,

Her are the latest results of my achievements, using Galvo Version 8.  I am very proud it it, and want to let you know that I will be able to share with all of you the end result of my precious work, in the next few weeks.

ILDA 16KPPS at 16 degrees.

Personally, very happy with this level of performance.

Now, time to focus on multi colors and AI batch import...

The setup as I've been working on lately...

The lonely ugly little breadboard you can see there is actually the protection circuit I developed to prevent slamming of the fragile galvos, when power is turned on or off.  Also acts as a very efficient surge protection.  For fun, I just tried forcing a mirror by hand and it instantly tripped in an "out of circuit" state for two seconds.

Notice how small and simple my power supply has become.  Just an ordinary 15Vac @ 2 amps transformer, diode bridge, and 2000uF caps did the job perfectly.   I was paranoid about power, ripple and regulation... No need for big wires and fancy stuff, I found out.

A few images of the graphics I can do.

And... what a finale!!! (he he...)

The PCB is being worked on right now and should be ready by mid February 2007.

Stay tuned,

Norm
